Our Science

HKG Epitherapeutics pioneers a groundbreaking scientific method, the BCD Method, which revolutionizes the landscape of tumor DNA detection in blood. Departing from the limitations of traditional sequence mutation screening, our approach focuses on the “epigenetic” profile of DNA. Our team has identified specific methylated regions universally present in cancers but absent in normal tissues, forming the basis of our innovative assay.

Scientific Approach

Led by Professor Moshe Szyf, an epigenetics pioneer with nearly three decades of groundbreaking research at McGill University, our method unveils the unique epigenetic characteristics of cancer cells.

BCD Method: DNA methylation mapping

Using the Binary Categorical Differentiation (BCD) method, our team has identified specific methylated regions universally present in cancers but absent in normal tissues, forming the basis of our innovative assay. DNA methylation marks, akin to an intricate “ID” of a cell, represent its history and predict its future. By mapping the unique profile of DNA methylation marks in white blood cells at the earliest disease stages, and employing computational methods to reveal polygenic markers, we have crafted a high-throughput, robust assay for early disease detection.

Science for the People

Our approach not only sets a new standard in precision but also aligns with our commitment to advancing healthcare through the latest scientific advancements. This approach transcends the realm of scientific innovation; it represents science for the people, a catalyst for promoting longevity. The first step is detecting anything that may disrupt that. By focusing on the epigenetic profile of DNA, our method is not merely about detecting diseases but about empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to proactively manage their health.

Lifestyle Management and Longevity

In our relentless pursuit of advancing healthcare, we believe that everyone deserves a long and healthy life. The synergy between our clinical diagnosis products, our early cancer detection methods, and patient lifestyle choices underscores the holistic approach necessary for proactive healthcare management and underscores the significance in our research to longevity and global health.

Our Lab

HKG Epitherapeutics’ state-of-the-art laboratory is where science meets precision. Our DNA lab team boasts unparalleled expertise in epigenetics and early cancer detection through a fusion of cutting-edge technology and meticulous design. It features small rooms strategically built to prevent contamination, creating a highly controlled environment for our research. Here, our team’s expertise, coupled with the precision of our computational methods, optimizes next-generation epigenetic advancements through DNA methylation.

Clinical Trials

Through our commitment to rigorous research protocols and revolutionary approaches, we are changing the landscape of early cancer diagnosis. Our clinical trials provide invaluable insights into the applicability and impact of our work on a global scale.

Testing

At HKG Epitherapeutics, we offer a comprehensive range of tests categorized into two vital domains—cancer detection and lifestyle management.

Cancer Detection

In the realm of cancer tests, our groundbreaking solutions such as epiLiver Liquid Biopsy, epiBreast Liquid Biopsy, and epiCervix Liquid Biopsy are meticulously designed for the early detection of liver cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer, respectively. These tests serve a critical purpose, aiming to identify the presence of cancer at its earliest stages, enabling timely intervention and ultimately saving lives.

Lifestyle Management

Lifestyle management tests, including epiAge and MetaGen, address crucial aspects such as age-related health issues, tobacco smoke exposure, opioid usage, and overall lifestyle choices.
